A Valentine For Your Heart

BACK TO LIST
As you know, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Formerly thought to be “a man’s disease”, we now realize that heart disease strikes both men and women. But there is one difference: women do not do as well with the disease. Women are diagnosed later, and treated less aggressively than men. At any age a woman is more likely to die from a heart attack than a man.

For men and women, the key is prevention. The simple truth is 80% of all chronic diseases are preventable, including heart disease. It is the daily lifestyle choices we make which add up to either protect us or put us at risk. Risk factors of smoking, excess weight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and inactivity represent poor choices. We are the guardians of our own health; it is our duty to make good choices. The good choices for our hearts are:

1.       Eating a healthy diet.
2.       Maintaining a healthy weight.
3.       Daily exercise.
4.       Not smoking. Everyday

Nutrition shakes were created to help keep your body lean and protect your heart. The American Heart Association recommends omega-3 fat for heart protection, and my shake is the only shake that contains this important nutrient.

Because Valentine’s Day is symbolized by a heart, Everyday Nutrition shakes are available for 20% off until February 15th, 2010.
